Tanzania: an ecological project!

A short summary of the Project

This project is un initiative of the community of the Seminary. We are an Institute of philosophy and social sciences of spiritan community of formation in Njiro Arusha-Tanzania. We belong to the Congregation of the Holy Ghost Fathers known as spiritans. The community is composed of seventy seven students and five formatters. We realized a 26 meter cubic of Biogas system so as to aliment the institute with gas aiming at minimizing the cost of life, protection of the environment and helping in the formation of our students to engage themselves in social developments in their areas of mission for the future.
For two years since we started using the Biogas, we have seen the positive achievements in the life of the Seminary and as well of the society around us. We have managed: (i) to use biogas for cooking in our Seminary. (ii) to produce agricultural products by using the manure from the biogas and we have increased the capacity of production in the Seminary as we produce all te types of vegetables that we use in the Seminary. (iii) We have em-ployed one person whose work is to mix the cow dung every morning. Other persons are employed in different areas of our garden where we use the manure which is the waste products. (iv) We have also reduced the envi-ronmental pollution because of stopping using the firewood for cooking. One thing remaining is to use a technolo-gy of compressing the Gas so as to put it in the gas bottles ready to start selling to other people.

It is steal our dream…

This Biogas is not expensive. You can see the budget …
